Hi I'm Bob

Hello, my name is Bob and this is my new blog. I'll be using it to talk about everything I know relating to tech. I'll start off with a brief introduction.

I'm 23 and study at the University of Cambridge in the UK. There are quite a few tech blogs on the internet right now so I want to get in on the fun and start one myself. It may not get a massive number of readers and I might not update it as often as I can but I'll give it my best shot anyway :)

Let's start off by talking about operating systems. The most popular operating system on the market right now is obviously Windows, which has over 80% share of the market. In fact, there's a great possibility that you're reading this article on one right now, so you're probably fully aware of what it's like and the various features of it. One of the benefits of it is the huge amount of applications for it. Developers like to concentrate on this platform, and as a result you can install things very easily and quickly. The operating system is built to run on all computers which is good in some cases, but it does mean that it isn't the quickest thing in the world. You can find apps for this on many sites, such as my personal favourite Www.softwaredownload247.com.

Another one you may know about is Mac OS X. Whilst you can only run this on Macs which makes it inaccessible for most (Although I'm running on a Mac!), this platform is built for speed and looks a lot nicer than Windows. There's less apps, but due to Apple's strict quality protection measures they tend to work a lot better than Windows apps. If you can afford to buy a computer like this it may be worth it. In fact, a lot of professionals involved in the graphics industry like to use these machines. You'll be glad to know that you can also find software on other sites, including everyone's favourite 7-zip download.

Linux is a good option too. It's completely free and open source, which means you can alter it as much as you want. There's a lot of tech knowledge to use this, however, because it isn't as user-friendly as the other options. You may want to do a lot of research on this one before you just rush into a decision. If you know what you're doing, though, you could have a lot of fun and see a great amount of powerful from the openness of this platform.

That's it for my first blog post :)
